My work is allegoric narrative. Not just a dialogue about my personal daily struggle, it is a metaphor for the universal conflicts of modern life. My subject matter is our present-day metro-morphosis, which transforms not only the environment but also people. Frequently, I use pastoral images that are juxtaposed with those of the electronic age.
I practice to develop a language by working with reoccurring subject matter. By interchanging objects a new narrative is created. Over time, a series of images develop which have common elements; yet contain a different, or double meaning.
To alter, invert or isolate an icon's value appeals to me. This action reveals a previously unexposed dimension of familiar objects. Suddenly the symbols become something else; subject to interpretation by the viewer. It is my hope to connect with the viewer and to find common ground with a visual dialog.
